Reporting a Post
Open Instagram App:
- Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device and log in to your account.
Find the Inappropriate Post:
- Navigate to the post you want to report. You can do this by scrolling through your feed or visiting the profile of the user who posted it.
Report the Post:
- Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post.
- Select "Report" from the menu options.
Choose Report Reason:
- Instagram will present you with different options to report the post. Choose the reason that best describes why you’re reporting it, such as "It's inappropriate", "It's spam", "It's abusive or harmful", etc.
Submit Your Report:
- Follow the prompts to provide additional information if necessary.
- Tap "Report" to submit your report to Instagram for review.
Reporting a Story
View the Story:
- Open the Instagram story that you want to report.
Report the Story:
- Tap the three dots (...) at the bottom right of the story.
- Select "Report" from the menu options.
Choose Report Reason:
- Select the appropriate reason for reporting the story.
- Follow any additional prompts to provide more details if needed.
Submit Your Report:
- Tap "Report" to submit your report to Instagram.
Reporting a Comment
Find the Comment:
- Go to the post where the comment was made.
Report the Comment:
- Swipe left on the comment (iOS) or tap and hold the comment (Android).
- Tap the exclamation mark icon (!) that appears.
Choose Report Reason:
- Select the reason for reporting the comment.
- Submit your report to Instagram for review.
Additional Tips
- Block or Unfollow: If the content isn’t violating Instagram’s guidelines but is still bothersome, consider blocking or unfollowing the user.
- Report Direct Messages: For inappropriate messages in your DMs, tap and hold the message, then tap "Report" and follow the prompts.
