1. Log in to Instagram
- Open your web browser and go to the Instagram website (www.instagram.com).
- Log in to the account you wish to delete.
2. Go to the Delete Your Account Page
- You need to access the specific page to delete your account. You cannot delete your account from the Instagram app.
- Visit the Delete Your Account page. You may need to log in again.
3. Select a Reason for Deletion
- On the delete account page, you will be asked to select a reason for deleting your account from a dropdown menu.
- Choose an appropriate reason from the list.
4. Re-enter Your Password
- After selecting the reason, you will need to re-enter your Instagram account password.
5. Permanently Delete Your Account
- Click or tap the Permanently delete my account button.
Additional Information
- Temporary Deactivation: If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, you can temporarily disable it. This will hide your profile, photos, comments, and likes until you reactivate it by logging back in. To do this, go to your profile, click Edit Profile, and select Temporarily disable my account.
- Backup Your Data: Before deleting your account, you may want to download a copy of your data (photos, comments, profile information, etc.). To do this, go to your Instagram settings, click on Privacy and Security, and then Data Download.
