Saving Instagram Photos and Videos

Saving on Mobile (iOS and Android)

Open Instagram:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device and log in if necessary.

Find the Photo or Video:

  • Navigate to the photo or video you want to save to your device.

Save the Photo or Video:

  • For Photos: Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the post. Select "Save" to save the photo to your device's photo gallery.
  • For Videos: Tap the three dots (...) and then tap "Save Video".

Saving on Desktop (Web Browser)

Access Instagram:

Find the Photo or Video:

  • Locate the photo or video you want to save.

Save the Photo or Video:

  • Right-click on the photo or video and select "Save image as..." or "Save video as..." to download it to your computer.

Sharing Instagram Photos and Videos

Sharing on Mobile (iOS and Android)

Share to Instagram Stories:

  • Open the Instagram app and go to the photo or video you want to share.
  • Tap on the paper airplane icon below the post.
  • Select "Add post to your story" to share it as a story.

Share to Direct Messages:

  • Tap on the paper airplane icon below the post.
  • Select "Send to..." to send the post to specific users or groups via Direct Message.

Share to Other Platforms:

  • For photos/videos saved to your device, you can share them directly to other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc., using the respective apps.

Sharing on Desktop (Web Browser)

  1. Share to Other Platforms:
    • Instagram on desktop doesn't allow direct posting to other social media platforms. You would need to download the photo or video to your computer and then manually upload it to other platforms.

Tips for Sharing Instagram Content

  • Respect Copyright: Always give credit to the original creator when sharing someone else’s content.
  • Engage with Your Audience: Use captions and hashtags effectively to engage your audience when sharing content.
  • Use Stories for Temporary Content: Stories are great for sharing more casual or temporary content that you don’t want on your main feed.
