How to Manage YouTube Notifications

1. Managing Notifications for Individual Channels

Subscribe to Channels:

  • Subscribe to the YouTube channels you want to receive notifications from. Click the red "Subscribe" button next to the channel name.

Enable Notifications:

  • After subscribing, click on the bell icon next to the "Subscribe" button. This will give you options for notifications:
    • All: You'll receive notifications for all new videos.
    • Personalized: YouTube will send notifications based on your watch history and preferences.
    • None: You won't receive notifications.

Manage Notification Settings:

  • If you've already subscribed to a channel but want to change notification settings, visit the channel’s page.
  • Click on the bell icon again to adjust notification settings as needed.

2. Managing Notifications for Your Subscriptions

Access Subscription Feed:

  • Click on Subscriptions on the left side of the YouTube homepage or in the sidebar menu on the YouTube app.

Sort by Notifications:

  • On the Subscriptions page, you can sort videos by "All" to see all uploads or "Only Highlights" to view videos YouTube thinks you'll find more interesting.

Turn On/Off Notifications:

  • You can turn notifications on or off for individual channels directly from the Subscription feed by clicking the bell icon next to the channel name.

3. Managing General YouTube Notifications

YouTube Settings:

  • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of YouTube and select Settings (or YouTube Studio > Settings).

Notifications Preferences:

  • Navigate to Notifications in the settings menu.
  • Here, you can manage notifications for things like mentions, comments, replies, and more.

Adjust Email Notifications:

  • You can choose to receive emails for notifications like new videos from channels you're subscribed to, comments, replies, and more.
  • Click on Email under Notifications to adjust these settings.

4. Mobile App Notifications

App Settings:

  • Open the YouTube app on your mobile device.
  • Tap on your profile picture to access Settings.

Notification Settings:

  • Tap on Notifications.
  • Here, you can customize notification preferences for various activities like new videos, comments, and mentions.

Additional Tips:

  • Stay Organized: Regularly review and adjust your notification settings to manage your YouTube experience effectively.
  • Use YouTube Studio: For creators, YouTube Studio provides additional tools to manage comments, insights, and notifications related to your channel.
