How to Link Instagram to Other Social Media Accounts

1. Link Instagram to Facebook

Open Instagram: Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device or go to Instagram.com on your desktop.

Go to Profile: Tap on your profile picture or icon at the bottom right (iOS) or top right (Android) of the screen to access your profile.

Open Settings: Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) at the top right corner (iOS) or bottom right corner (Android) of your profile page.

Account Settings: Scroll down and tap on "Settings."

Linked Accounts: Tap on "Account > Linked Accounts > Facebook."

Link to Facebook: You'll be prompted to log into your Facebook account if you're not already logged in. Follow the instructions to link your Instagram account to your Facebook profile or page.

Authorize Permissions: Instagram will request permission to post to Facebook on your behalf. Allow these permissions to enable cross-posting.

2. Link Instagram to Twitter

Open Instagram: Go to your profile and tap the three horizontal lines (menu icon) at the top right corner (iOS) or bottom right corner (Android) of your profile page.

Settings: Tap on "Settings > Account > Linked Accounts > Twitter."

Link to Twitter: You'll be prompted to log into your Twitter account if you're not already logged in. Follow the instructions to link your Instagram account to your Twitter profile.

Authorize Permissions: Instagram will request permission to post to Twitter on your behalf. Allow these permissions to enable cross-posting.

3. Link Instagram to Other Platforms (e.g., Tumblr, LinkedIn)

Open Instagram: Navigate to your profile and tap the three horizontal lines (menu icon) at the top right corner (iOS) or bottom right corner (Android) of your profile page.

Settings: Tap on "Settings > Account > Linked Accounts."

Select Platform: Choose the platform you want to link (e.g., Tumblr, LinkedIn).

Log In: Log into your account for the selected platform if you're not already logged in.

Authorize Permissions: Instagram will ask for permission to post to the selected platform on your behalf. Allow these permissions to enable cross-posting.

4. Automatically Share Instagram Posts to Linked Accounts

Once you’ve linked your accounts:

  • Post Settings: When you create a new post on Instagram, you'll see options to share it to your linked accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) before you publish the post.
  • Story Sharing: For Instagram Stories, you can tap on the three dots (More) button at the bottom right of your Story and select "Share to" to share it to Facebook, Twitter, or other linked accounts.

Tips for Cross-Posting:

  • Customize Posts: Tailor your captions and content to fit each platform's audience and format.
  • Schedule Posts: Use scheduling tools or platforms like Hootsuite or Buffer to schedule posts across multiple accounts at once.
  • Monitor Engagement: Keep track of how your posts perform on each platform and adjust your strategy accordingly.
