On Desktop
Log in to Your YouTube Account:
- Open a web browser, go to YouTube, and log in to your account.
Go to Your Channel:
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
- From the dropdown menu, select “Your channel”.
Edit Profile Picture:
- On your channel page, hover over your current profile picture. You will see a camera icon appear. Click on it.
- You’ll be redirected to the “Channel customization” page under the “Branding” tab.
Upload a New Profile Picture:
- Under the “Profile picture” section, click on “Change”.
- Select the image you want to use from your computer. Ensure that the image is at least 98 x 98 pixels and less than 4MB in size, in a square or round format.
- Adjust the image as needed and click “Done”.
Save Changes:
- Once you have uploaded and adjusted your new profile picture, click on “Publish” in the top right corner of the “Channel customization” page to save the changes.
On Mobile
Using the YouTube App
Open the YouTube App:
- Launch the YouTube app on your mobile device and log in if necessary.
Go to Your Channel:
- Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Tap on “Your channel” from the menu that appears.
Edit Profile Picture:
- On your channel page, tap on the pencil icon next to your profile picture.
- Tap on the camera icon next to your profile picture.
Upload a New Profile Picture:
- You can choose to take a new photo or select one from your gallery.
- Adjust the image as needed and tap “Save” or “Done”.
Using the YouTube Studio App
Open the YouTube Studio App:
- If you don't have the YouTube Studio app, download it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Launch the YouTube Studio app and log in to your account.
Go to Your Channel:
- Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
- Tap on “Your channel”.
Edit Profile Picture:
- Tap on the pencil icon next to your profile picture.
- Tap on the camera icon to change your profile picture.
Upload a New Profile Picture:
- Choose a new photo from your gallery or take a new one.
- Adjust the image as needed and tap “Save” or “Done”.
Tips for Profile Pictures
- Keep it Simple: Use a clear, high-resolution image that represents your brand or identity.
- Consistency: Use the same profile picture across all your social media platforms for consistent branding.
- Recognizable: Ensure that your face or logo is clearly visible and easily recognizable, even in a small size.
