For Personal Profiles
1. Add or Update Bio on Mobile
Open the Facebook App:
- Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device and log in if necessary.
Go to Your Profile:
- Tap on your profile picture or your name to go to your profile page.
Edit Bio:
- Under your profile picture and name, you’ll see an “Edit Profile” button. Tap it.
- Scroll down to the “Bio” section and tap on it to add or edit your bio.
- Enter the information you want to display. You have a character limit of 101 characters for your bio.
- Once done, tap “Save” or “Done” to update your bio.
2. Add or Update Bio on Desktop
Log in to Facebook:
- Open a web browser, go to Facebook, and log in to your account.
Navigate to Your Profile:
- Click on your name or profile picture in the top right corner to go to your profile page.
Edit Bio:
- Below your cover photo, you’ll see an “Edit Profile” button. Click it.
- Scroll to the “Bio” section and click on the pencil icon next to it.
- Enter or edit your bio information.
- Click “Save” to update your bio.
For Business Pages
1. Add or Update Bio Information on Mobile
Open the Facebook App:
- Open the Facebook app on your mobile device.
Go to Your Page:
- Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the bottom right corner.
- Tap on “Pages” and select the page you want to edit.
Edit Page Info:
- Tap on “More” (three dots) below the cover photo.
- Select “Edit Page Info”.
- Here you can add or update various sections, including the “About” section which acts as your bio.
- Enter the relevant information and tap “Save” to update your page.
2. Add or Update Bio Information on Desktop
Log in to Facebook:
- Open a web browser, go to Facebook, and log in to your account.
Navigate to Your Page:
- Click on “Pages” from the left-hand menu.
- Select the page you want to edit.
Edit Page Info:
- Click on “Edit Page Info” from the left-hand menu.
- Here you can add or update various sections, including the “Description” field which serves as your bio.
- Enter the relevant information.
- Click “Save Changes” to update your page.
Tips for Writing a Good Bio
- Be Concise: Keep it short and to the point. For personal profiles, use the 101-character limit wisely.
- Use Keywords: Include relevant keywords that describe who you are or what your business does.
- Highlight Unique Traits: Mention something unique about yourself or your business to stand out.
- Update Regularly: Keep your bio updated with any new information or changes.
