Reporting Posts, Photos, and Videos

Find the Post: Locate the post, photo, or video that you want to report. You can do this by scrolling through your News Feed, visiting a profile, or clicking on a specific post.

Click on the Three Dots: On the top right corner of the post, click on the three dots (ellipsis icon) to open a dropdown menu.

Select "Find Support or Report Post": Click on this option to access reporting options.

Choose Reporting Reason:

  • Facebook provides various options for reporting, such as "I think it shouldn't be on Facebook," "It's spam," "It's abusive or harmful," etc.
  • Select the reason that best describes why you are reporting the content.

Follow Additional Instructions:

  • Depending on your chosen reason, Facebook may provide additional options or ask you to provide more details.
  • Follow the instructions and provide any necessary information to complete the report.

Submit the Report: Click "Submit" to send your report to Facebook’s moderators for review.

Reporting Profiles

Visit the Profile: Go to the profile of the person or page you want to report.

Click on the Three Dots: Again, on the profile page, click on the three dots (ellipsis icon) next to the “Message” button.

Select "Find Support or Report Profile": Choose this option from the dropdown menu.

Choose Reporting Reason:

  • Similar to reporting posts, select the appropriate reason for reporting the profile, such as "Fake account," "Pretending to be someone," "Harassment," etc.

Provide Details:

  • If prompted, provide additional details or reasons why you are reporting the profile.
  • Be specific and provide any relevant information that can help Facebook understand the issue.

Submit the Report: Click "Submit" to send your report to Facebook for review.

Reporting Groups or Pages

Visit the Group or Page: Go to the Group or Page that you want to report.

Click on the Three Dots: Click on the three dots (ellipsis icon) next to the "Share" button on the Group or Page.

Select "Find Support or Report Group/Page": Choose this option from the dropdown menu.

Choose Reporting Reason:

  • Select the reason that best describes why you are reporting the Group or Page, such as "Harassment," "Violence," "Spam," etc.

Provide Details:

  • If necessary, provide additional information or details to support your report.
  • Facebook may ask for more context depending on the reason selected.

Submit the Report: Click "Submit" to send your report to Facebook for review.

Follow Up

After submitting a report, Facebook will review the content or profile and take appropriate action based on their Community Standards. You may not receive a direct response, but you can check the status of your report in your Support Inbox.

By reporting inappropriate content on Facebook, you contribute to maintaining a safer and more respectful community for everyone using the platform.
